Beer Fest + Billy Joe and The Roosters at Belly Up Tavern – Tuesday, July 31

A beer festival on a school night? Yes please! The Belly Up is hosting a Beer Fest on Tuesday night, featuring a spread of local craft breweries on-site and a live performance by Billy Joe and The Roosters. Paws for a Cause Yappy Hour at Thruster’s Lounge – Thursday, August 2

Drink specials and adorable dogs — what could be better? Thruster’s Lounge is hosting Paws for a Cause, a dog adoption and fundraising event from 5:30 to 9pm on Thursday. Head to the Pacific Beach bar for happy hour drink specials, including $4 24 oz. beer cans and $5 cocktails, live painting, raffles, a bake sale and live music by John Grant and Tom Goodhue. Sevilla Nightclub One Year Anniversary Party – Friday, August 3

Café Sevilla brings three levels of Latin spice to the Gaslamp Quarter. This weekend, the Sevilla Nightclub crew celebrates one year of success in the new location on Fifth Avenue. The anniversary party will feature a live performance by Omarion — the R&B artist, actor and dancer we first met in the R&B group B2K. Steel Pulse & Cake + Beer Fest at Del Mar Racetrack – August 3 & 4

The Del Mar Racetrack is the place to be all month. This week’s 4 O’Clock Friday concert features the incredible reggae band Steel Pulse performing live after the last race. On Saturday, head back for Del Mar’s Beer Fest featuring dozens of local breweries, followed by alternative rockers Cake performing live after the last race. ‘The Nail Files’ Mobile Salon in San Diego – August 3 & 4

‘The Nail Files’ is a reality series on TV Guide Network that gives viewers a look inside The Painted Nail, a trendy L.A. salon run by celebrity nail guru Katie Cazorla. This weekend, Cazorla and her crew of stylists are hitting the road in a bedazzled mobile salon. The glass-walled truck, which is designed to evoke the spirit of the mani-pedi palace, is making two stops in San Diego, at Fashion Valley on August 3 and Otay Ranch Town Center on Saturday, August 4. From 11am to 6pm, shoppers can hop into the truck for complimentary mini-manicures using Cazorla’s eco-friendly polish. Get details here

 

El Dorado’s Craft Beer & Cocktail Showcase in East Village – Saturday, August 4

The cool kids over at El Dorado are bringing back The San Diego Showcase this weekend. Head to East Village for an evening filled with craft beer, craft cocktails, live jazz music, indie DJs, retail vendors, live art demos and even sumo wrestling. In addition to local breweries, many of San Diego’s top mixologists will be on-site to create sample size cocktails. Check out spirits from Hass Hamoud of Lion’s Share, Tim Stevens of Seven Grand, Dave Kinsey of Craft & Commerce and more. The event runs from 4 to 9pm, and a portion of proceeds will benefit On-Life Suicide Prevention. Get details here

 

Encinitas BrewFest at MiraCosta College – Saturday, August 4

Just named one of the top 20 surf towns in the world by National Geographic, Encinitas is hosting a big BrewFest this weekend. Taking over the MiraCosta San Elijo college campus from 4 to 7pm on Saturday, the Encinitas BrewFest will feature 15 local craft breweries, food trucks, live music by local band Gone Blonde, and a VIP area hosted by master brewer Jeff Bagby. The brewery roster includes Stone, Pizza Port, Green Flash, Ballast Point, Stumblefoot, Karl Strauss, Iron Fist and more. Presented by the Encinitas Coastal Rotary Club, proceeds benefit a variety of local partner charities, including the Boys & Girls Club. Get details here
