Every Tuesday, Balboa Park offers residents free admission to some of its museums. Here’s where you can go today.

Japanese Friendship Garden:Follow winding paths to the Zen garden for meditation, an exhibit house, koi pond, bonsai exhibit, ceremonial gate, and a Fujidana (wisteria arbor).

San Diego Museum of Art:Current exhibits include Japanese prints, French landscapes, works byJean Charlot and more.

Museum of Man: Currently showing is “Race: Are We So Different?,” “Strange Bones: Curiosities of the Human Skeleton” and “Counter Cultures: The Secret Lives of Games.”

Art Institute of Living Artists: Check out works by emerging artists in the colorful artist village.

Mingei International Museum: Current exhibitions include “Maneki Neko: Japan’s Beckoning Cats — From Talisman to Pop Icon” and “In Their Own Words: Classic and Contemporary Native American Art.”
